Are you new to the pursing a career in graphic designing? Or are you a graphic designer student looking for a way to make some money with your art online? Maybe you’re a professional graphic artist how wants to learn how to market themselves and their art to start making passive income online. Perhaps you just like using Photoshop and manipulating photos or making graphic designs for your self and friends. On the other hand, maybe you’ve been told your and awesome artist and should try to sell your artwork to people?

Well, you know what?  There are many starving artist out there who are good at what they do but are unable to find the work or the ability to market their work effectively. A career in the arts can be brutal to some and significantly profitable for other. I believe I know what draws the line between the artists living in a shack to a very wealth (even famous?) artist.

You just have to know how to market yourself and your art work.  Its 2010 now and you know what? Many Business’s are expanding to the internet and this does not exclude artists! There are many ways you can start making money with your art work on the internet. It might seem scary and impossible to do but there are many graphics artists, painters and photographers out using the internet to make themselves an income. The best thing about this is that they aren’t just selling original art works and sending them to people, no, they are making recurring sales with a single graphic design or website template. This is what we call passive income.

Basically, all you do is submit your art work to a website that sells your art work for you and you get paid every time someone downloads it. You may think that there are so many sites that do this and how would someone find my graphic design out of thousands of other submission? And why would they want to pay for my design? Well that’s where you need some marketing strategies. For instance, you target a certain popular genre that a people might be makes new website or businesses around. You can go to Google and use their free keyword tools to find popular keywords to optimize you’re graphic design’s to show up in the Google image search. If you are able to get that image on the first page, you could get potential buyers for your graphic designs. This is how you advertise for free. There’s also the option of using ad words to drive potential customers to your website where you posted designs or templates for people to buy. I personally wouldn’t pursue the ad words campaign unless I was advertising for my more expensive graphic art designs or website templates.

I won’t go into any more detail on how you can market your graphic designs but there is lots of information on the web that can help you. I hope I have given some of you fellow graphic artists some insight on a new way to make money online and give you new ideas on how to market your art work.

Laser printers are a huge improved over the old dot matrix and even ink jet printers. Their laser cartridge‘s allow you print thousands upon thousands of pages before you need to replace them. Where as with inkjet printers you could only print a fraction of that amount before having to buy another cartridge. You can only imagine what technologies are around the corner.
